Let it flow, let us learn
Let it Flow, Let us Learn is a flagship project by e-Inclusion to mark the Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD) on 28th May instituted by the United Nation to raise awareness and improve personal hygiene by providing sanitary items to girls, offer personal hygiene education to adequately inform them on the monthly journey, and embrace the cycle as a normal and healthy process discounting negativity and misconceptions about menstruation. Many public schools suffer sanitation issues and it even gets worse with deprived communities. There is much discomfort to girls who would have to use rags and frequent washrooms just to be sure they have not soiled their uniforms. This constant state of doubt and check degenerates into low self-esteem and confidence as they juggle academic work. Thanks to this project, girls will no longer have to miss one week of classes every month and will have stable minds to concentrate on their academic work regardless of the date of the month.
To mark this year’s MHD celebration, e- Inclusion team visited a cluster of schools in Aflao, Volta region of Ghana to help build awareness in menstrual hygiene management and also donated sanitary products to one hundred and twenty (120) primary and junior high school girls on the 28th May 2016.
