Using Technology for Social Good”- Atebubu, Brong Ahafo Region

The role of Youth in social Change is very important in National transformation and strong growth point for civilization.  Hence the effective youth leadership programs must be built on solid youth development principles.

Nation building without the participation of the Youths will not bring sustainability of the long term visions and aspirations of our Leaders today. Today’s Youth must be equipped with the requisite leadership skills in order to carry on the dreams, Visions and aspirations of our country.

Technology has become the epitome for development in our Global community today and countries such as India leveraged this and developed the younger generation into becoming technologically inclined.  Most of our social needs and challenges today can be addressed by the use of technology for Social good.

Our over dependency on foreign sources is because of our inability to use our Technology minds and think tanks to solve social problems.  Our knowledge acquisition in science and Technology is not driven towards social good.  As a result the innovative mind of our leadership is completely bankrupt as far as the use of Technology to drive businesses and for Social good is concern.

With our aim to address this, e- Inclusion in partnership with the Vodafone Ghana Foundation and the JAK Foundation organized a leadership summit this summer for the JAK Scholars in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. The Project dubbed “Using Technology for Social Good” targeted Ghana’s brightest Scholars enrolled in Universities across the nation to benefit from essential models through but not limited to the under listed four (4) major areas;

  1. The Importance of Technology in Transformational Leadership
  2. Community development through Technology
  3. Achieving business growth by use of Technological Solutions (Entrepreneurship)
  4. Addressing Social Challenge by use of Technology
